The 9th staging of the NMIA PALISADOES WALKATHON will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2013 starting at 7:00 a.m.

This year, the event is aimed at raising funds to help the KINGSTON PUBLIC HOSPITAL (KPH) ONCOLOGY UNIT, which is being established to provide critical cancer chemotherapy care to the many persons afflicted with the disease.

DESIGNATED ROUTE

The route starts at the airport roundabout by the Air Jamaica plane tail and will proceed in the direction of Harbour View, turn at 2.5km and return to the Greenfield area adjacent to the starting point; for a total of 5km. There will be three (3) water stops along the route, mid way from the start, at the turn around point and mid way on the return leg.

Parking is in the Greenfield area. Entrance to the parking lot is from the dual carriageway leading into the airport. Please follow the directions of the traffic marshals and signage posted at the designated parking area.

REGISTRATION

Entry fee is $1,000.00 per person to either walk or run. The fee covers your entry number and light refreshments. Individuals and teams are responsible for their own gears. We encourage you to wear your company branded T-shirts. Entry forms are available online at www.nmia.aero or can be collected at the Administrative Office of Airports Authority of Jamaica/NMIA Airports Ltd located at the Norman Manley International Airport. Payment is via cash, certified cheque or company cheque for corporate teams only. Registration fees are non-refundable. The special awards follow immediately after the race in the Greenfield. Special prizes and spot prizes include airline tickets, smart phones, cash, plasma TV, gift baskets, weekend for 2, dinner for 2, etc.

ENTERTAINMENT

MC is Jenny Jenny, along with Dancing Dynamites. Stay for the entertainment package from approximately 8:45 am - 10:30 am and qualify to win from the exciting range of spot prizes.
